Introduction

ZetaBeam ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our file transfer application across mobile and desktop platforms.

Data Collection

ZetaBeam is designed with privacy in mind:

• Your Files: We do not collect, store, or access your files
• Files are transferred directly between devices (peer-to-peer) using end-to-end encryption
• No account registration is required
• Connection metadata is temporarily processed by relay servers but not permanently stored by us

Advertising: ZetaBeam displays advertisements to support the free version of the app. Our advertising partners may collect certain information to show you relevant ads, including:

• Device information (device type, operating system)
• Approximate location (based on IP address, for region-specific ads)
• Ad interaction data (views, clicks)
• Advertising identifiers (IDFA on iOS, AAID on Android)

Important: This advertising data is collected by our ad partners, not by ZetaBeam. We do not have access to your transferred files or their contents.

End-to-End Encryption

All file transfers are end-to-end encrypted using the Magic Wormhole protocol. Only the sender and receiver can access the transferred files. We cannot decrypt or view your files at any time. Advertisements do not have access to your file transfer data.

Relay Servers and Infrastructure

ZetaBeam uses the Magic Wormhole protocol and relay servers operated by wormhole.io to facilitate peer-to-peer connections between devices. These relay servers help establish connections when direct device-to-device communication is not possible (e.g., due to firewalls or NAT).

While your files pass through these relay servers during transfer, they remain end-to-end encrypted and cannot be read by the relay servers, ZetaBeam, or any third party. The relay servers only handle encrypted data transmission.

Connection metadata (such as room codes, IP addresses, and connection timing) is temporarily processed by the relay servers to enable transfers. This metadata is not stored permanently and is automatically deleted after the transfer completes.

Third-Party Services

ZetaBeam integrates with the following third-party services:

• Magic Wormhole Relay Servers (wormhole.io): Used to facilitate peer-to-peer connections. For more information about their data handling practices, visit Magic Wormhole documentation.
• Google AdMob: We use Google AdMob to display advertisements in the free version of our app. AdMob may collect and process data as described in their privacy policy. You can learn more about how Google uses data at Google's Privacy Policy.

Your Privacy Choices

You have the following options to control your data:

• Opt-out of personalized ads: You can disable personalized advertising in your device settings:
  • iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising → Disable "Personalized Ads"
  • Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads → Delete advertising ID
• Upgrade to remove ads: Consider upgrading to the premium version to remove all advertisements and support the development of ZetaBeam.

Data Retention

ZetaBeam does not collect or store your files or personal information. File transfers are ephemeral and leave no trace on our systems.

Data collected by third-party advertising partners is subject to their respective retention policies. Please refer to Google AdMob's privacy policy for details.

Children's Privacy

ZetaBeam does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. Our advertising partners also comply with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) and do not show personalized ads to children.

International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, where our advertising and relay server partners operate. These countries may have different data protection laws than your jurisdiction.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of any material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
